We were very lucky to be host the amazing GB Sprinter Victoria Ohuruogu! She ran a fun fitness circuit for the children in our school, with each year group taking part in a series of exercises alongside her.

A highlight of the day was the surprise teachers’ race—made even more entertaining by their inflatable costumes! It brought lots of smiles and cheers from the children. The EYFS children have had a magical experience watching the life cycle of butterflies! We started with tiny caterpillars and carefully observed them as they grew, formed cocoons, and finally emerged as beautiful butterflies. The children were fascinated by every stage and learned so much about nature and transformation. It’s been a truly special part of our learning!

In EYFS, the children are learning how to care for our class pets. Giant African Snails! They love observing their movements, exploring their shells, and helping to keep their habitat clean and cosy. Today we celebrated Diversity Day at school, and it was a wonderful celebration of our different cultures and backgrounds. Children and staff came dressed in their traditional or national clothing, proudly sharing a part of who they are. The children were filled with excitement and wonder as they watched ducklings hatch from their eggs right in the classroom! It was an incredible experience seeing the little beaks peck through the shells and the fluffy ducklings emerge. The children were fascinated by the process and showed such care and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and observing quietly. It was a truly magical moment that brought learning to life.

Cricket tournament at Roding Valley High School. All 12 children represented Limes Farm Infants superbly. Their Cricket skills that they have been learning really did show and one of our teams scored 100 runs in one game. They really did give it their all against 3 other schools and have reached the finals at Loughton Cricket Club in June.

Our EYFS children have been busy little gardeners! They’ve been planting sunflower seeds and beans in clear bags so they can watch the roots and shoots grow. It’s been so exciting to see their curiosity and wonder as they observe the changes each day!
