The children took part in our Christmas fundraiser: the “Laps to Lapland” Sponsored Walk. It was a wonderful, active challenge, and they showed great enthusiasm as they completed their laps to help raise vital funds for the school. Reception took part in a fantastic history workshop all about homes in the past. The children learned how people used to live hundreds of years ago — including how they washed their clothes without modern machines! Everyone had a go at some of the activities, asked lots of thoughtful questions, and shared some brilliant answers.

We had a special visit from a storyteller, CJ, who told the children the story of Rama and Lakshmana as part of our learning about Diwali. 🌟 The children absolutely loved the story! CJ was so impressed with their positive attitude and how brave they were to join in. They asked lots of thoughtful questions and shared some brilliant ideas when CJ asked them his own. We’re so proud of how engaged, curious and confident they were throughout the session!

The EYFS children have had a magical experience watching the life cycle of butterflies! We started with tiny caterpillars and carefully observed them as they grew, formed cocoons, and finally emerged as beautiful butterflies. The children were fascinated by every stage and learned so much about nature and transformation. It’s been a truly special part of our learning!

Today we celebrated Diversity Day at school, and it was a wonderful celebration of our different cultures and backgrounds. The children were filled with excitement and wonder as they watched ducklings hatch from their eggs right in the classroom! It was an incredible experience seeing the little beaks peck through the shells and the fluffy ducklings emerge. The children were fascinated by the process and showed such care and curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and observing quietly. It was a truly magical moment that brought learning to life.

Cricket tournament at Roding Valley High School. All 12 children represented Limes Farm Infants superbly. Their Cricket skills that they have been learning really did show and one of our teams scored 100 runs in one game. They really did give it their all against 3 other schools and have reached the finals at Loughton Cricket Club in June.

Our EYFS children have been busy little gardeners! They’ve been planting sunflower seeds and beans in clear bags so they can watch the roots and shoots grow. It’s been so exciting to see their curiosity and wonder as they observe the changes each day!

Reception had a fantastic time when the Little City came to visit them. The children were emersed in role play: where nothing is off limits, they can be the hairdresser, the firefighter, the builder, the café owner and much, much more.
