Music

Music Statement of Intent

At Limes Farm, we believe that music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire and motivate children. It provides an opportunity for personal expression and it can play an important part in the personal development of an individual. We want to enable children to develop a love for music whilst increasing self-confidence, creativity and a sense of achievement.

We are committed to a high quality music education and through our Charanga Music School scheme and topic work, pupils have the opportunity to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of genres, styles, traditions and historical periods.

Our aim is to promote enthusiasm for and enjoyment of, music in all its forms and also to develop musical skills and knowledge. By engaging children in musical experiences, we can offer our children opportunities to develop skills, attitudes and attributes that can support learning in other areas as well as developing life skills such as listening skills, the ability to concentrate, creativity, self-confidence and sensitivity towards others.
