Geography

Geography Statement of Intent

At Limes Farm Infant School and Nursery, we believe that Geography helps to provoke and answer questions about the natural and human world, encouraging children to develop a greater understanding of their world and their place in it.

Geography develops an understanding of concepts, knowledge and skills. It helps to develop a range of investigation and problem solving skills that are transferrable to other areas of the curriculum.

Geography promotes the children’s interests and understanding about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.

At our school we seek to inspire in children a curiosity and fascination about the world which will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

Developing experts

At Limes Farm Infant School and Nursery we use "Developing Experts" scheme of work to help us deliver an exciting Geography Curriculum.

The Developing Experts Geography Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2 is designed to spark curiosity about the world while providing a robust foundation in geographical knowledge and skills. Fully aligned with the National Curriculum for England, our lessons blend expert content with real-world application and career inspiration — helping pupils see the purpose behind what they learn.
